In this article, we overview the main technologies of a semiconductor laser diode coupling to an optical fiber and the methods of the module parts bonding.
(a) The radiation coming out of a laser diode is only partially coupled to the waveguided mode.
Various technologies of optical coupling with the help of:
(b) lens of the fiber end and bonding the fiber with a solder,
(c) ball lens,
(d) graded-index lens,
(e) aspheric lens,
(f) lens on the end of the fiber by technology of LasersCom
